In the contemporary mission space there will be 3 domains.  The central, most important domain is cognitive.  It is here that the desired end state will be achieved and therefore it is here that conflict will be won or lost.

In order to change the cognitive domain, effects will be levered in the information and physical domains.  In the information domain we will see disruption, disinformation, propaganda and denial of information flows that will affect the perceptions of the opponent.  In the physical domain we will see force, fires, destruction and threat that will affect the will of the opponent.  Together these effects will shape the cognitive domain and lead to victory.
